11/5/2008   Think POSITIVE in challenging times

"Why Does it Work Out Better Than You Can Ever Possibly Imagine?"

With all of the bad news coming at us 24/7, how can we possibly feel anything but anxious and panicky? Wednesday evening, November 5, Bill Rodman will explain to us his mantra, "Why Does it Work Out Better Than You Can Ever Possibly Imagine?", and give us renewed optimism at a time we so desperately need it.

Bill Rodman spent 20 years in the entertainment and broadcast industry, 10 of them as an executive producer for ESPN. He had everything anyone could want, but he felt his life was missing something critical; purpose. In his search for this missing element, he and a life long friend hit upon the idea that entertainment could be used to enlighten, educate, and empower everyone. Their company, 4e Productions, was born.

Like most new ventures, Bill’s has been subject to all of the turns and twists we all experience. Unlike many of us however, Bill’s overriding belief; that everything works out better than we can ever possibly imagine, has propelled him forward, upward and outward.

Please Join us November 5 from 6-8:30 at Quatro Pazzi in Norwalk, and hear Bill’s amazing story.

9/3/2008   ELECTING THE PRESIDENT, HE – OR SHE – WHO COMMUNICATES BEST, WINS!

ELECTING THE PRESIDENT
HE OR SHE – WHO COMMUNICATES BEST, WINS!

Ever wonder how some politicians win, especially at the presidential level? Does style really matter? What about things like messages or candidates’ personal stories? Top consultant and political communications commentator and critic Ruth Sherman delivers a dynamic and information-packed presentation that will focus on the techniques presidential candidates use to influence voters. She’ll show examples using footage of candidates from the current and past campaigns and will also discuss why these skills matter for business leaders. Presentation skills, message strategy, sloganeering and message discipline will all be discussed.

As a seasoned political observer, and former faculty member of the Women’s Campaign School at Yale University. Ruth comments extensively on elections focusing on candidates’ communication skills and arguing that these skills are critical to running a successful race. Bythe end of the presentation, all those who attend will think about political communication in a new way and perhaps even be able to make a more informed choice when it comes to casting their vote for the next leader of the free world.

At the end of the presentation, we’ll have some fun by rating the communication skills of the remaining two candidates and casting our own ballots based on those ratings.

And the winner is…….
